To-Do List

This free to-do list runs in your browser, with no sign up and no account. Type a task and press Enter to add it, tap its checkbox to mark it done, reorder tasks with the arrows, and clear everything completed with one click. Every task is saved automatically, so closing the tab does not lose your list.

  • No tasks yet. Add your first one above.

What is this to-do list for?

It tracks discrete tasks you need to check off, from ÆON Toolhub: add one, mark it done when it's finished, reorder the list as priorities shift, and clear out everything completed in one click. No sign-up, and every change is saved to your browser automatically.

How do you use it?

Add a task. Type it into the field and press Enter, or click Add.

Check it off. Tap its checkbox. It stays visible with a strikethrough rather than vanishing, so you can see what you already finished before clearing it.

Reorder as needed. Use the up and down arrows next to any task to move it without retyping it.

Clear what's done. Click "Clear completed" to remove every checked-off task at once, leaving only what is still active.

To-do list or notepad, which one do I want?

They are built for different jobs, and both live in the Productivity section here:

ToolBuilt forStructure
To-do listDiscrete tasks you check off one by oneA list of items, each with its own done state and position
Online notepadNotes, drafts, anything longer than a lineFree-form text, with Markdown preview

If what you're writing is a sentence or a paragraph, the notepad is the right tool. If it's a list of things to actually do, each one either done or not, this is built for exactly that shape of problem.

Where is my list saved?

In your browser's local storage, on your device, the moment you add, check, reorder, or delete a task. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so there is no account to lose access to and nothing tied to your identity. The trade is that a list made on one browser stays on that browser; it will not appear on your phone unless you add it there too.

What this does not do, and why

It does not sync across devices. There is no account, so a list started on your laptop stays on that laptop's browser. That is the same trade every tool on this site makes for privacy and zero setup.

It does not support sub-tasks or due dates. Each item is a single line with a done state and a position, on purpose, so adding a task never takes more than typing it and pressing Enter. If your workflow genuinely needs nested steps or deadlines, a project-management app is the better fit than a quick checklist.

It does not remind you. This tracks what needs doing, not when. Pair it with our online alarm clock if a task is time-sensitive and you want an active alert at a specific time.

Is my data private?

Yes. Every task is stored only in your browser's local storage, never on a server, and never tied to an account or an email address. Nobody else, including us, can see it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to make an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password. Open the page, add a task, and start checking things off. Everything runs in your browser with nothing to install, and your list is never tied to an identity or sent anywhere else.

Is this the same as your online notepad?

No, they solve different problems. The notepad is free-form text, good for writing notes, drafts, or anything longer than a line. This tool is a structured list of discrete tasks, each with its own checkbox, order, and done state, built for tracking what still needs doing, not for writing prose.

Will my list still be here tomorrow?

Yes, as long as you use the same browser on the same device and do not clear its site data. Every task is saved to local storage the moment you add or change it, so reloading the page or restarting your computer does not erase anything.

Can I reorder my tasks?

Yes. Each task has an up and a down arrow next to it, so you can move anything higher or lower in the list without deleting and retyping it. The first task cannot move up further, and the last cannot move down further, so the arrows simply do nothing at either end.

What happens when I check a task off?

It stays in the list with a strikethrough, rather than disappearing immediately. That way you can see what you already finished today before clearing it out. The count at the bottom always shows how many are still active and how many are done.

How do I clear finished tasks?

Click "Clear completed" under the list. It removes every checked-off task in one single action, leaving only what is still active behind. The button stays disabled whenever nothing is done yet, so there is never anything to accidentally clear by mistake.

Is there a limit to how many tasks I can add?

No limit is built into the tool itself. Add as many tasks as you want; the practical ceiling is only your own browser storage, which comfortably holds thousands of short tasks before that ever becomes a concern for a simple list like this.

Can anyone else see my tasks?

No. Your list is stored only in your own browser local storage, on your device, and is never uploaded to a server. Nobody else, including us, can see what you have added. The data stays with that one browser profile.

Can I add a task by accident with just spaces?

No. Text that is empty or contains only spaces is ignored when you press Enter or click Add, so the list never fills up with blank, unusable rows. Leading and trailing spaces around real text are trimmed automatically as well.
