Habit Tracker

This free habit tracker runs in your browser, with no sign up and no account. Add as many habits as you want, tap any day on the 28-day grid to mark it done or undone, and it shows your current streak and your best streak so far. Everything saves automatically to this browser.

No habits yet. Add one above to start your first streak.

What is this habit tracker for?

It answers one question at a glance: did you do the thing today, and how many days in a row have you kept it up? This free tool from ÆON Toolhub is built for the habits people actually try to build: drinking enough water, reading, stretching, a no-sugar day, practicing an instrument. Add a habit, tap today's square when you do it, and the streak counts itself.

Unlike most competitors, every square in the grid is editable, not just today's. Forgot to log yesterday's run until this morning? Tap yesterday. Most trackers only let you check the current day, which quietly punishes anyone who logs a little late.

How do you use it?

Add a habit. Type a name and click Add habit, or press Enter.

Check off a day. Tap any square in its 28-day grid. Filled means done, empty means not done, and tapping again undoes it.

Read the streak. Current streak counts consecutive done days ending today. Best streak, shown once it beats your current one, is the longest run that habit has ever had.

Track more than one. Add as many habits as you want; each keeps its own grid and its own streak.

How does the streak actually work?

A streak counts consecutive done days ending today, but today not being checked off yet does not break it. The day still has hours left in it, so the count runs through yesterday instead of dropping to zero every morning before you have had a chance to act. It only resets once a full day passes with nothing marked.

That distinction matters: a tracker that zeroes your streak the instant midnight passes, before you have even had breakfast, trains people to stop trusting the number. This one only breaks a streak when a day was genuinely missed, not merely not yet logged.

What this does not do, and why

It does not send reminders. This is a record of what you did, not an alert system. If you want something that actively pings you at a set time, pair it with our online alarm clock: set the alarm for your habit's time, then come back here to check the day off once you have done it.

It does not sync across devices. There is no account, so a habit tracked on your laptop lives only on that laptop's browser. That trade buys privacy and zero setup in exchange for staying local.

It does not show a full year at once. The grid covers the last 28 days on purpose, enough to see a real pattern without becoming a wall of squares too small to tap accurately. Your streak numbers still reflect everything you have ever logged, even outside that window.

Is my data private?

Yes. Every habit and every day you check off is stored only in your browser's local storage, never on a server, and never tied to an account or an email address. Nobody else, including us, can see it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password. Open the page, add a habit, and start checking off days. Everything runs in your browser with nothing to install, and nothing about your habits is ever tied to an identity or sent anywhere.

Can I mark a day I forgot to check off yesterday?

Yes. Every square in the 28-day grid is clickable, not just today, so you can tap yesterday, or any day in the last four weeks, to add or remove it. Many trackers only let you check today, which punishes you for logging in a day late for something you actually did.

How is my current streak calculated?

It counts consecutive done days ending today. If today is not checked off yet, the streak still counts through yesterday, since the day is not over. It only resets to zero once a full day passes with nothing marked, so you are not punished for not having checked in yet this morning.

What is the difference between current streak and best streak?

Current streak is how many days in a row are checked off ending today or yesterday. Best streak is the longest run you have ever had for that habit, even if it happened weeks ago and was later broken. Best streak only shows once it is higher than your current one.

Will my habits still be here tomorrow?

Yes, as long as you use the same browser on the same device and do not clear its site data. Every habit and every checked day is saved to local storage the moment you tap it, so closing the tab or restarting your computer does not erase anything.

Can I track more than one habit?

Yes, with no limit built into the tool. Add as many habits as you want, each with its own name, its own 28-day grid, and its own streak counted independently of the others. They are listed in the order you added them, newest at the bottom of the page.

Does it remind me to do my habit?

No, this tool only tracks what you have already done; it does not send reminders. Pair it with our online alarm clock if you want something to actively ping you at a set time each day, then come back here to check the day off.

Can anyone else see my habits?

No. Everything is stored only in your own browser local storage, on your device, and is never uploaded to a server. Nobody else, including us, can see what habits you track or how consistent you have been. The data stays on that one browser.

What happens if I delete a habit by mistake?

Deleting is immediate and there is no undo, so its full history, every day you ever checked off, is gone with it. If a habit matters to you, treat delete as permanent rather than a way to temporarily hide it from the list.

Why only a 28-day grid instead of a full year?

Twenty-eight days, four full weeks, is enough to see a real pattern and recent consistency without turning into a wall of tiny, hard-to-tap squares. Your streak numbers already account for everything you have ever logged, even outside that visible window.
