Fancy Text Generator

This free fancy text generator turns your words into 26 copy and paste styles, from bold and cursive to bubbles, upside down and backwards, and keeps accents intact. A post editor bolds or italicizes selected words for LinkedIn, each style shows whether it works everywhere, and styled text can be turned back into plain letters.

Styles without a warning work on every phone and app. Accents are kept, so ação and café stay styled. Screen readers spell these letters out one by one: use them for a few words, not whole posts.

What does this fancy text generator do?

It turns your text into 26 styles you can copy and paste anywhere text goes, and it is honest about what each one costs.

  • 26 styles: bold, italic, bold italic, serif versions, cursive, gothic, outline, typewriter, bubbles, wide, small caps, tiny, squares, upside down, backwards (reverse text), strikethrough, underline and more.
  • Accents stay styled. café, ação and señor keep the style on every letter, where many generators leave a plain é in the middle of a bold word.
  • A warning on every style that can break. It may show boxes on older phones, or turn letters into emoji; a style without a warning works everywhere, so you know before you post.
  • A post editor for LinkedIn. Select a few words and press B, I, U or S, or use Ctrl and Cmd shortcuts. Styles combine, so bold italic underlined works.
  • The real cost on X. Styled letters count double there; the page shows the count for each style and for your post.
  • Undo the fancy. Paste styled text into Make it plain and get normal letters back, even from upside-down text.

How do you make fancy text?

  1. Type in the box on All styles; every style updates as you type.
  2. Check the label and any letters the style cannot change.
  3. Press Copy and paste it into Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X or Discord.
  4. For a whole post, open Post editor, select the words to highlight and press B or I.

Why does fancy text work without a font?

Because it is not a font. Unicode, the standard behind all text on screens, includes several complete alphabets that were made for math, such as bold, italic, script and fraktur letters, plus circled, wide and other decorated letters. This tool swaps each normal letter for its lookalike, so the style travels with the text itself.

Style familyWhere it comes fromWorks on
Bold, italic, cursive, gothic, outlineMath alphabetsCurrent phones and computers
Bubbles, wideEnclosed and fullwidth lettersNearly everything
Small caps, tiny, squares, upside downPhonetic and rare symbolsMost devices; older ones may show boxes

What fancy text does not do

  • It is not accessible. Screen readers read styled letters as math symbols, often one by one. Style a name or a few words, not a paragraph.
  • It is not searchable. Search in Instagram, LinkedIn and Google treats 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 as different from Hello. Keep keywords plain.
  • It does not cover every alphabet. Greek, Cyrillic and some symbols stay normal, and the page lists them.
  • It cannot force a look. Each app draws the characters with its own fonts, so shapes vary slightly between devices.

To change letter case instead of the font, use the case converter.

Frequently asked questions

How does a fancy text generator work?

It swaps each letter for a different Unicode character that looks like a styled letter, such as the mathematical bold A instead of a normal A. Because the result is still text, not an image or a font file, you can paste it into Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X or Discord and it keeps the look.

How do I make text bold on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn has no bold button. Open the Post editor tab, write or paste the post, select the words to highlight and press B, or Ctrl B or Cmd B. Italic, underline and strikethrough work the same way and can be combined. Then press Copy post and paste it into LinkedIn.

Why do some fancy letters show as boxes?

A box means the phone or computer has no font containing that character. Bold, italic, cursive, gothic, bubbles and wide letters are in the fonts of current phones and computers. Small caps, tiny letters, squares and upside-down text use rarer characters and can show boxes on older devices, which is why each style carries a label.

Do fancy fonts keep accents like é and ç?

Yes, here they do. Each accented letter is split into its base letter and the accent, the base letter gets the style, and the accent is attached back on top. So café and ação stay fully styled. Many generators skip accented letters, leaving a plain é in the middle of a bold word.

Are fancy fonts bad for accessibility?

They can be. Screen readers do not see bold or cursive letters, they see mathematical symbols, and may read a styled word letter by letter, like mathematical bold capital H. Styled words are also missed by search. Use them for a name or a few key words, never for a whole post.

Why does fancy text count double on X?

X gives most characters from standard alphabets a weight of one and everything else a weight of two, including these styled letters and emoji. A bold word of five letters counts as ten of your 280 characters. This tool shows the X count for every style and for your whole post.

How do I turn fancy text back into normal text?

Open the Make it plain tab and paste the styled text. Bold, italic, cursive, gothic, bubbles, wide, underlined, struck through and even upside-down text turn back into normal letters you can search, quote or read with a screen reader. Copy the result with one click.

How do I write upside down or backwards text?

Copy the Upside down style to flip each letter and reverse the order, so it reads when the phone is turned around; a few capitals use rare characters. For text that is simply reversed, last letter first, copy Backwards: it uses ordinary letters, so it works everywhere, accents included.

Can Instagram or LinkedIn remove fancy text?

They generally keep it, because it is normal Unicode text. Some fields, such as usernames, only accept basic letters and numbers, so styled characters are refused there. Search inside the apps will not match styled words, so keep important keywords in plain letters in your bio and posts.

Which letters have no fancy version?

Styles are built for the English alphabet and digits, plus accented letters through the trick above. Letters from other alphabets, such as Greek or Cyrillic, and symbols like ß stay normal. A few styles also lack a letter, for example tiny text has no q, and the page lists exactly which letters stay plain.
